Ok, so Rihanna’s not really a model, but she definitely could and needs to be. Some celebrities just do it for me in the photo shoot department and Miss Riri is definitely one of them! For Complex magazine’s February Issue, Rihanna was shot 7 times for 7 different covers in 7 outfits representing the 7 albums she has put out in a 7 year time span. Got that? 777.
Music of the Sun. I’m loving this look, it’s so “carefree summer”, the cutoff shorts and the crop top really represent the Bajan beauty’s first album era perfectly. Not to mention, this look is already filling up the racks at stores everywhere.
A Girl Like Me. The follow up to her first album, Ms. Fenty still had that good girl persona, mixed in with a little flirtation. This “all white everything” bikini top and skirt ensemble would be perfect for the beach or if you’re Rihanna, perfect for those nights on your yacht sailing off the coast of Saint Tropez.
Good Girl Gone Bad. The album that sparked “Umbrella ella ella”, I wore this cd out back in ’07. I absolutely loved her, and this era sparked the fashion- forward Rihanna we’ve all grown to love.
Rated R. Her most raw and realest album to date, I still have this on heavy rotation. Not to mention, this era brought on the edgiest fashions that I’ve ever seen her in. She was a front row staple at Paris Fashion Week, and there was never a shot of her when she wasn’t dripping in high fashion couture. This album era solidified her into “fashion icon” status, which is why it’s my fav. By the way, the black lipstick, leather crop top, and pants are so on trend at the moment.
Loud. Sparked everything, the red hair, fun music, and loud, outrageous fashions. Question: where did she get this Marilyn Monroe 50′s vintage style bikini. Can you say “musthave”.
Talk That Talk. The photo alone, gives me 90′s grunge, which I currently love. Every album, she switches up her style, this album was no exception. Loving the camouflage, the overalls and of course the Chanel earrings and suspenders are calling my name!
Unapologetic. No one rocks a pixie quite like BadGalRiri, and no one embraces their sexuality quite like her either. There’s definitely more to her than meets the eye and she’s not afraid to let the world know it. In my last post, I congratulated Tory Burch on her success, nothing motivates me more than when women are hardworking and achieving their dreams. This is why I admire Rihanna. She isn’t afraid to be who she is, she’s confident in what she does, and she could care less if you like her or not. And those 3 things, I feel, need to be embraced more by women everywhere.
The thing with Rihanna is that she’s never afraid to try new things. She’s usually unconventional and can look good even in just a long t-shirt and boots!
Glad to know you feel the same as I do!!
