We’ve covered the worst, now it’s time for the best. These trends made quite the impact in the fashion world and judging by how stylish and popular they were, something tells me they’ll be around for a few more seasons. Here’s the 10 stylish trends of 2013!
Grunge made quite the impact this year appearing on the runways of Saint Laurent Paris, Givenchy, and Versace. The classic 90’s trend brought out the punk rock in everyone.
Let’s just call 2013: the year of plaid. Men and women alike were mad about plaid and with good reason. From Glen plaid to Tartan, Tom Ford to Moschino, plaid was everywhere and on everyone.
The ultra feminine print made a powerful comeback last year, so it wasn’t surprising to see it all over the place in 2013. The usually girly print proved it could be edgy and sexy when it debuted in Roberto Cavalli’s Fall 2013 show.
The 90’s came back with a vengeance with trends such as grunge and plaid, and adding to the resurgence of the ever popular decade was denim. The trend was so unstoppable that wearing one piece of it wasn’t enough.
The ultimate in shoe porn, gladiator heels proved to be every fashionistas go-to shoe for the spring and summer season.
The classic crop top, another gem from the 90’s, is the only trend to spark gym memberships and major ab workouts.
These largely warm and stylish coats are an outfit within itself and will definitely be around for seasons to come.
One of my favorite trends of the year, it even sparked its own Shoe Porn segment.
The runways were filled with colors reminiscent of Easter. Pastels took over making neon and brights a thing of the past. The serene, playful and girly colors will put anyone in the mood for macaroons.
Midi skirts replaced the mini skirt this year and with good reason. The coveted skirt style of the season can transcend from day to night, work to play, while still giving off a classy and ladylike approach.
So there you have it, we’ve covered the best, stylish trends of the year. I’m looking forward to what 2014 has to offer!
