After taking an unplanned hiatus, I thought I’d reemerge with something that made me smile. People magazine’s “Most Beautiful” list is out and gracing the well-deserved cover is Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o. Normally, I ignore issues like the “Most Beautiful” or “Sexiest Man Alive” because I feel it promotes everything I believe is wrong with Hollywood; giving accolades to stars who already receive enough of them has always bothered me.  I’ve always wanted to see someone who stands for more than just beauty on the cover. And, it appears I got my wish.

Miss Nyong’o has been riding high this year; gracing every best dressed list, collecting awards at every turn, and being appointed as the new face of Lancôme. In a world filled with manufactured singers and reality stars, it’s refreshing to see Lupita being celebrated. Hollywood and America has had such a jaded view on what’s considered beautiful but after this cover, the world’s old view on beauty will be a thing of the past.

Elegant, graceful, intelligent, talented, and so full of humility. These are just a few of the traits that makes Miss Nyong’o oh so BEAUTIFUL. Congratulations Lupita, I see a Vogue cover in your future!

  1. Great article! I love Lupita and I agree she really broke the stereotype of what beauty is “considered” to be in Hollywood.

There's nothing more stylish than an opinion!
